Switchboard of Miami to participate in Denim Day

MIAMI, FL- April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Switchboard of Miami is taking action! Sexual assault is a constant and pressing issue in society that is proliferating daily. Both men and women are victims of sexual violence and the amount of victims keeps rising. In recent news, more and more public figures have “come out” as survivors of sexual assault like Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey, Shia LaBeouf and many more.

In addition to a Domestic Violence Line, Switchboard offers support for sexual assault survivors through its Family Counseling Services and The Journey Institute (TJI) program. Switchboard’s Family Counseling Services offers guidance and support to sexual assault survivors and their family members. Switchboard’s TJI program works with child, adolescent, and adult survivors of sexual abuse and assault.

This April, Switchboard’s Family Counseling Services presents the 7th Annual “Denim Days” in Miami. “Denim Days” is a campaign that aids in fundraising and awareness efforts for sexual assault. Organizations can participate by having employees make a $5 donation and in exchange earn a ticket to wear jeans to work. Participating organizations also have the option of allowing employees to wear denim every Friday in April for a lump sum donation of $20. All proceeds donated benefit Switchboard and it’s Family Counseling Services Division.
