Then Switchboard of Miami has the job for you. Volunteer to be a trained crisis counselor and handle incoming calls at our Call Center from people in need. Free, comprehensive training is available. Or help in our youth programs where you can guide young people on a solid life path. Does working with senior citizens appeal to you? Help contact older people living alone to check on their well being and reassure them that someone cares. Or just pitch in to help us run the only tri-lingual Call Center in the nation. SWITCHBOARD OF MIAMI IN CRITICAL NEED OF CREOLE & FRENCH CREOLE-SPEAKING VOLUNTEERS

 

Switchboard of Miami, Inc. the area’s leading crisis counseling & information and referral services, asks those with backgrounds in mental health, social work, psychology and/or /psychiatry to help in the aftermath of the January 12th earthquake in Haiti.

 

 To ensure prompt assistance for the area’s Haitian community, Switchboard is actively and urgently recruiting motivated individuals 18 years or older , who speak Creole and/or French-Creole language, to volunteer with Switchboard.  Short- and long- term assignments are available in various capacities.  Expedited training provided at the Switchboard office, 701 SW 27th Avenue, Miami 33135.  Background checks are required.

 

Switchboard of Miami offers 24-hour counseling and information and referral services for anyone in need of support in this time of grief.  Information and Referral services are also available by calling The Children’s Trust 2-1-1 which is managed and operated by Switchboard.  Customized individual and group counseling activities for businesses and organizations are also available.
